THESE ARE THINGS I LIKE TO WRITE. SOME THINGS ARE REALLY THINGS THAT HAPPENED TO ME. SOME THINGS ARE JUST THINGS I MADE UP, LIKE STORIES OR POEMS.

Sexist or Nice???

So for P.E. this past week we had a substitute gym teacher. He made the 2 fastest girls and the 2 fastest boys in our class race. If the girls won, the boys would have to do 50 push ups. If the boys won, the girls would only have to do 5 push ups.

They raced, and the boys won by a nose.

He made all of the girls in our class do 5 push ups.

A lot of the boys and the girls were like, "he's so sexist, he was pretty much saying that the girls were weak."

Some of the girls were like, "I am SO glad he didn't make up so 50!"

Do you think he was being rude and sexist, or do you think he was just on the girl's side and was nice to not make us do 50 push ups?

Mutual Activity Ideas

I have had a lot of fun with mutual! Mutual is where the young women and young men do activities all together. Sometimes by age group, sometimes by gender, and sometimes everybody does an activity together.

I found these really fun mutual activities online. Thought I'd share them with you. Some of these you could also use for parties and stuff.

P Night- This is for Personal Progress. Talk about why Personal Progress is important. Than for the rest of the night, do things that start with P. Wear pajamas, eat popcorn, peanut butter, pie, etc.

Modesty Exchange- Have the girls bring clothes, shoes, shirts, pants, jewelry, etc. and have them trade things with other girls. Tie this in with a modesty lesson.

Tie Dye- Have the girls bring a shirt, pillow case, or anything white to tie-dye. You can buy really cheap tie-dye kits at wal-mart for $10 or less. You can also wear these to girl's camp!

Matching Pajamas- Have the girls all make matching pajama pants- use these in girl's camp!

11 year old night- invite some 11 year old girls to the activity. Give them make overs and bond and play games with the 11 year old girls to show them how fun young women's is!

Where's Waldo?- Gather at a small store if beehives, mall or bigger store is older young women. Have 1 (or more) leader/s go somewhere in the store. Split the young women in groups (if beehives, have each group with a leader for adult supervision) to go around the store finding "waldo."Each time Waldo is found, have Waldo hide again! If you want, have each team keep score. By curfew, count up points to find winner.

Sidewalk chalk- Have the girls draw with sidewalk chalk. However, their drawing has to do with their testimony/what they believe with the church, or something they enjoy about being in Young Women's.

Trip to heaven- Have the leaders set this up ahead of time. Have them leave index cards outside the church in bushes, trees, etc. with hints to the next clue. Some Index cards may say, "you hit bump in the road, you must wait for 15 seconds before you can move on," and things like that. Then, have the young women split up in teams so get to the end of the scavengar hunt. This will be like trying to go to heaven. Explain how getting to heaven may have challenges along the way.
You may also create a board game version of this, though it may take time.

There were a lot more, but this were my favorites!

Writing: The Princess and the Log

We had to write a twisted fairy tale for school. Here's mine:

The Princess and the Log

Prettyprettyprincess

There once was princess named Christina. Christina had one little brother Sam, and a little sister named Samantha. She also had a pet pig.

So, one day she decided to go down to the forest and pick some berries and nuts for her pig. She was walking along a trail when she came across a big log. She COULD just go around it, but her mother told her to stay on the path so she wouldn’t get lost. She WOULD just step over it or jump over it, but her dress was too long, and she didn’t want to ruin it.

So, she carefully jumped up and started climbing over the log.

“Hey, watch it there, you almost stepped on my twig,” said the log.

“Oh, sorry, I didn’t see that there. Plus, YOU’RE the one in my way! Can you just please move over??” the princess pleaded.

“Here, I’ll make a deal with you,” the log continued, “see, a witch casted a spell on me and turned me into a log. But I am actually a very handsome prince. The only way to break the spell is if you kiss me,” the log explained.

“So, if I kiss you, you’ll turn into a prince and move out of my way?” the princess asked.

“Correct...” the log said.

“Well, alright, but you better not trick me like that frog back there at the pond,” she assured.

The princess leaned forward with her lips puckered and pushed out, and gave the log a big awkward kiss.

“Ouch!” said the princess pulling away from him.

“Ouch? I just turned back into a very handsome prince that nobody can resist, and all you say is ouch?” the prince wondered out loud.

“Yes, ouch! I just got a big splinter on my mouth because of you! Now look what you’ve done! You’ve tricked me into getting a splinter on my lips! Darn, now I can’t apply my new berry-shimmer chapstick that I just got from the mall! I should’ve known better....”

“Well, now that I’m a real prince and all, I could kiss you to make it better...” the prince continued.

“You wish!” said the princess. She gave him a big slap across the face and walked off with her basket of berries.

And they both lived painfully ever after, The End.

Before And After, Guest Star: SI

I went to my friend's house, Si. (her nick name, like how mine is Ki)Actually I am at her house right now as I am blogging. Here she is typing to you:
Hi! Obviously this is Si, but anyway, we've been having a lot of fun today. Ki slept over at my house last night and even thought it's pretty girly,we had a spa night. :)
So last night Ki brought over a little pool to soak our feet in. And then this morning we each went in different rooms and did our own makeup and hair and then we opened the doors to see each other!
Here are the pics:

Just Chilling on a Weekend.

Not much to blog about here right now, but I thought I'd take a visit on my blog anyway.

It's FINALLY Friday- SO relieved. I just LOVE Fridays (Like Rebecca Black, hehe!)

Saturdays are fun because there is no school, but there are no more break days after Saturday.

See, on a Friday, let's say I just waste my Friday doing nothing. Oh well, I still have a Saturday!

But if it were a Saturday and I wasted it, it would be like, oh well, I guess I have to wait for next week!

Plus, on a Friday, you still have school which isn't too bad because you can still see your friends AND have a good break day. :) Woo hoo!

Of course I am sure my Fridays will change once I get in High School. In Elementary school, we get out early on Fridays. But in High School you don't... So I don't think it'll be too fun.

But anyway, I am just chilling here. Not much to do. I might go to a friend's house. I might not. Not quite sure so far. I usually try to find something fun to do. If I can't find anything, I just relax. Which is great, too.

What do you usually do on the weekend? What's your favorite day of the week?

I Need More Sleep!!!!

I need more sleep! I usually get from 7-8 and a half hours.

I usually end up going to bed by 10 0r 10:30 (for some reason I get really hungry at night)
and I have to wake up around 7:00 AM.

There are many reasons I can't sleep at night. This includes:

  • Dry mouth
  • Randomly hungry at midnight
  • have to go to the bathroom really bad
  • Can't sleep
  • My leg or arm falls asleep and it's too uncomfortable
  • Cat is making too much noise
  • blanket falls off
  • I have to turn my pillow to the cold side
  • Can't relax because of realizing I hadn't finished my homework
--------
So, there are quite a few reasons. I have to say though that nothing about it being bright or loud stops me from sleeping. Going on road trips and having to sleep in a car means that I can sleep on a very hard mattress and be perfectly fine, so I don't think it's my mattress. Just too many things running through my mind at once.

I find that drinking something warm like hot chocolate before bed helps me fall asleep, but I guess you aren't really supposed to have any food or things with sugar like that before going to sleep.

And I have tried listening to music on my Ipod, but even if it is a soft and quiet song, I get to distracted and sing along in my head instead of sleeping. And once I DO begin to fall asleep, I forget to turn off my Ipod and then in the morning my Ipod is totally dead and out of battery!

Even sleeping in pajamas doesn't help much.

I have taken showers before bed, but I don't like going to bed with wet hair because then my hair gets are curled up (it curls up when it's wet) and then it dries up with curled knots. And then my pillow is wet.

So WHAT is the deal? WHY do I have trouble sleeping!?

Then in the morning I am so grumpy and tired. And I get dizzy and a head ache in the car.

Well the head ache can either be from
  1. get car sick easily (true)
  2. low blood sugar (I usually have to skip breakfast or eat the school's breakfast)
  3. TIRED and not enough SLEEP
-------------------
Not to mention I cannot think straight in school.

WHAT CAN I DO TO GET MORE SLEEP!!!!

See? Too many things racing in my head, that I have now stayed up 'til 11:08 to blog! :) Haha

Diabetes- so sad.....

There is this kid in my class who has diabetes. And last night I had a dream that I was diagnosed with diabetes. :(

Just realized how hard things would be if I had diabetes. Glad I don't have diabetes then. Well, not that I know of. But apparently a lot of people don't know it but they actually have diabetes, and that people should get checked just in case.

So sad. :(

Yet, Another Collage

Like I said in the blog post below, just kind of learned how to use Picasa. It's a thing on my computer where you upload pictures and arrange it and make collages. You can also make other things on it, too. I kind of picked this up from my mom. She makes collages for her blog. And my blog, too! (Thanks mom so much) as you can see on the top of my blog, there is a cute and awesome collage that my mom made.

Anyway, here are some collages I have made that I thought I'd share with you:

Our 2 cats, AKA sisters (Jasper and Sadiebelle)
I made one for my friend, IS:
I made one for my friend, LIZ

As you can see I am no where near as talented at making collages as my mom is. I am still making one for my friend KENZ. I just made collages for fun. They do take time, however. You should definitely try it!

Life looks funner in pictures. Up above there is christmas photos, 50's outfit, pie, disney land, halloween costumes, cheesy smile in a flower, and me accidentally breaking out in laughter when trying to get christmas photos taken. Sounds fun. Too bad most of my days include me staring at the ceiling doing nothing!

PS. I just made this collage. I learned how to use this program like 2 or 3 months ago, so this is only the 3 collage I have made. I also made a collage of our cats. I plan on making a collage of things that I will do in the summer later on in the future. Too bad it's not summer yet....

Dating and Rules

Dating. Going out. I thought they were both the same thing. Apparently not.

My family follows a rule that dating is not allowed until you are 16.

Well, last night I was at mutual and these two girls (my age) were talking about these people who were going to break up. I asked them, "who are these people??"

"Oh, they are in our class at school," they replied.

Our leader was like, "Wait kids actually date at you school?"

"No, they 'go out' instead," they said.

Isn't that the same thing though??? Weird... 12 year olds "going out"??? That's pretty young!

What do you think the appropriate age for dating is?

Valentines day: Hearts, chocolate, flowers, and candy!

Happy Valentine's day to you all. Some people hate Valentine's day. But me? I love it.

We get candy, and it's a day where there are parties, and chocolate.
And how doesn't love parties and chocolate?

Even if you don't have a special someone, you can still have fun on Valentines day.

Today we had our 6th grade Valentine's dance. It was 50's themed, so we got to wear 50's clothing. It was awesome. There were hearts all over the gym, and there were pink and red and purple balloons spread through out.

Here are the dances that we had to do and the partners I had for each dance:

  1. Swing (girl's choice) -James
  2. two step (boy's choice) -Jeff
  3. Waltz (girl's choice) -Alec
  4. Swing (boy's choice) - Jackson
  5. electric slide
  6. Fox trot (girl's choice) - Jake
  7. Waltz (boy's choice) -Kade
  8. The Hustle
  9. Swing (girl's choice) - Nick
  10. Free Dance (boy's choice) -Conner
  11. Boot scootin' boogie (but we ran out of time to do this dance)
--------------------------------------------------------------
For refreshments we had soda and cookies- yum.

----------------------------------------
Also, the student council sells things call Val-o-grams that you can get for your friends. They are just basically cards that you sign and write who it' for and then they tape candy to it.
----------------------------------------------------------
So that's pretty much all I did for my Valentine's day. Overall, it was pretty fun! We didn't do any science or social studies and little math time. :) so happy.

So WHY do I love Valentine's day? Free candy, music, and less school work!! Woo hoo!

My 50's Poodle Skirt!!!!!

As mentioned in an earlier blog post, we are having a 6th grade dance on Valentines day. The theme of the dance is 50's, meaning we have to dress up as if we are in the 50's.

I thought the most obvious 50's outfit for a girl would be a poodle skirt. Knowing my mom likes crafty things (when she has the time) I asked her to make me an outfit.

Here are some online to give you an idea:

----------------------------------------------------------------------
So, those were the ones I found online. Here is the outfit my mom put together for me:

She got the skirt, jacket, and shirt, and head band at walmart last night. She also got the poodle there. Then today we just hot glued the poodle onto the skirt, and walla!
It does look better in person though. My teacher said that with a poodle skirt they wore saddle shoes. But she said that they look good with black converse (that's what they wore back then) and flats. So I will probably wear either flats or converse.

Well, I guess I have my halloween costume, too! Thanks mom. :)

Our Valentine's Dance!!1

Our sixth grade dance it next week on Tuesday. It's the Valentines dance.

Usually I hate the dances, the more we have them, the funner they seem to be. The first dance that we had, which was the harvest dance, was awkward. People didn't know who to dance with and it was well, socially awkward. We all danced with out partners, and nobody looked at eachother.

But now at dances every body dances along and talks and laughs and has a great time.

I am very very excited for this dance though, because it is 50's theme! Meaning we have to dress up like we are from the 50's! I am going to wear a poodle skirt! Same with all of my friends. And it also cool how the dances have a bunch of really cool decorations and music and stuff.

Not to mention.... FOOD!

Will it be fun? I hope! Will I get dance partners that I won't mind dancing with? I sure hope!
Let's hope things go well.

WXH Grease play: FunnyMan plays Doody!

WX high put on a play "Grease" (school clean version) and I was very impressed! I loved it and would love to see it again! My brother, a senior, played Doody. Doody is one of the popular best friends.

So here are some clips that my brother was in that my dad and uncle put up on YouTube. WARNING: If you plan on watching the play and don't want it spoiled, I suggest you don't watch the videos, because they are from the actual play!

My brother is the one with the red shirt and the hand cuffs:

My brother in this clip in the one with the guitar:

This is when he shows his friends what he learned on the guitar. Again, he is the one with the guitar:

This is the diner scene. He isn't any of the dancers. But for our 6th grade valentine's dance, the theme is 50's, like in Grease, meaning that we have to dress like we are from the 50's. My mom is going to make/get me a poodle skirt. I don't have saddle shoes though so I will probably just wear my black converse. Not sure yet:
