Who knew that there could be so much drama in 6th grade??? Well, let me tell ya, there's quite a bit. Well, at least at MY school there is....
Let's start off with the girls in my grade. There's a ton of drama there. And most of you know that I went through some drama over the summer with a friend. (you probably read it on my mom's blog) It's actually going pretty well now. Things are okay with that situation. We all still get along well and everything is good. (though we aren't exactly best friends forever with that one girl.)
See, with the boys at my school, they are all friends. But the girls? Different. First in 3rd grade we were all friends. But the more we go through the school years, the more our friend ship changes. It goes from a whole group of friends to split up circles of friends. And, being in spectrum, you don't meet a lot of new kids since you have pretty much the same class mates each year.
But their's more drama besides friendship circles. Let me explain with a short list:
- Kindergarten - 3rd grade: Everybody in the class is your best friend.
- 4th grade: Everybody is still together as friends, but kind of splitting off...
- 5th grade: Girls VS boys..
- 6th grade: Things flip- it's Girls LOVE boys, and boys LOVE girls...
When I was younger, my mom would tell me, "Just wait 'til you are a teenager. You will go boy crazy and want to kiss a lot of them..." Um, mom, did you get that thought from your own teen years? I heard you kissed a lot of boys then! (are you kidding me, she wrote a whole detailed story about all of the wet kisses she experienced BEFORE she was 16!!! Gag me with a spoon!!!)
So everybody in 6th grade talks about one thing- crushes... YUCK!!!!!!!!!!! And girls (and occasionally some boys) will ask me who I have a crush on. I honestly DON'T HAVE A CRUSH on anybody! Like I said, being in spectrum means having the same class mates each year. I have been with the same boys ever since the 3rd grade- I think I have had enough time to decide which boys I like and which boys I dont... -.-
Oh, and I do however have some boy friends. Guy friends. Friends of the opposite gender. Friends that are boys. Friends that are not girls.
Does this mean I like them, though? No. N-O, no. opposite of yes=no. Infact, I only have 1 friend that is a boy. The rest are more like... Buddies. Do I LIKE that one boy who is my friend? No. no. n-o. I think we just went over the whole "no" thing. Hehe. No, it's not that I am his friend meaning I like him. He's just pretty much the only boy mature enough to be a real friend with a girl. Think of it like this: He's my friend who just happens to be a boy.
So whenever my mom pulls up to pick me up from school and sees me talking to him, she teases me. And last year in the spelling bee (he was also in the school spelling bee with me) my mom (yes, you, mom!) kept on asking questions about him. "Does he like you?" she asked. MOM, listen to me, never ask me if a boy likes me, because if a boy has a CRUSH on me, most of the time a crush is a secret, so I would not know. Lol!
Oh, and the fact that the 6th grade teachers put on dances doesn't help. The students go crazy over who is going to be a dance partner with who. OH, and did I mention that the next dance is on Valentines day???? UGH worst day ever! (at least they serve food and have music at the dances. Oh and it's better than math!)

But not only crushes and girls play big parts in 6th grade drama. So do stereotypes. At my school, we have these mean girls who take dance and cheer- they would be the cheerleaders. We have kids who instead of playing tag or shooting hoops, they talk to the ground duty and help clean the cafeteria. They are known as teacher's pets. However, these kids tend to be really nice, so good for them!!! Then we have boys who think they are so cool and so tough and so smart and rich and most of them play foot ball. These would be the Jocks. Funny thing is, in movies, girls like the jocks. But at my school, the girls hate them. They are mean sometimes and they try to be funny....
Then, like most classes have, there's a kid (usually a boy) would calls out in class and goofs off. He would be the Class Clown. Then we have kids who are "nerds" and I honestly feel bad for them. They are the kids who are picked on because they don't wear skinny jeans, or because they are really smart, or because they don't play any major sports, or because they are really quiet. (Sounds kinda like me, haha. Just kidding though, I have great friends!) But these kids I find to be some of the funnest kids to be around. :) Oh, and then there's usually a quiet kid (me!) who never really talks and is, well, quiet. We have about 3 kids like that in my class like that (including me.. heh heh)

So, like I said, there can be a lot more drama in 6th grade then you would think. If this is how much drama there is in 6th grade, I wonder what it's like in Junior High... 0.0 .wow.
